Provincial OHV Areas

Looks like some progress is being made in developing some recreation areas in the Grande Prairie area.  As a newcomer to the 4×4/off-road scene, this is welcome news indeed!  This area is of particular interest due to my fly fishing activities – some of my favorite destinations in Alberta happen to be in the same region, and it would be fun to combine the two interests.  In fact, fly fishing was one of the key reasons I chose to get the Rubicon in the first place!

I think that an organized area, with marked and rated trails would be fantastic!  The True North Trail Runners Off Highway Club (TNT), based out of Grande Prairie, has done a fanstastic job in organizing the annual ACE event in Grande Cache (really looking forward to that in August!), and hopefully they’ll play a significant role in the development of the Big Mountain OHV area south of Grande Prairie.

Email ParkNews@gov.ab.ca to express your support of these recreational areas, and the continued involvement of TNT in their development!

I've been working with the web for over 15 years, working on websites for myself, the federal government, and many other companies over the years. Other interests include woodworking, cooking, and going places with the Jeep that I bought a few years ago. The Jeep has lead to other interests including amateur radio, welding, and also wrenching - learning how to maintain and repair my Jeep :^)
