My Rubicon

Have been planning on building a bumper – even bought a little welding machine.  However, a couple months back, Genright came out with a new bumper for the JK – made from aluminum.  Looks great I think – and the price is not too bad either!

Must be getting used to the door pillar rattle – haven’t done a thing about it yet! lol

There’s a rattle by the door pillar on the drivers side.  Only hear it when going over a bump. On the JK-Forum, found this:

Default here is the latch part number
The part number is…
4589277AG
and
4589276AGOne is for the Driver side and one is for the Passanger side…dont have the one for the rear..since I am still waiting on the back-ordered part!

Hope this helps!

I think that it’s the plastic mount of the seat belt that is rattling, but we’ll see what happens..

Have added a number of accessories – equipment required and/or recommended by the Edmonton Jeep Club. This includes a winch, air compressor, recovery strap, tree saver, snatch block, rear receiver-mount recovery hook, C.B. radio (bought a handheld first – which is not very rugged at all, and replaced it with a Uniden under-dash model).

After a number of trail runs with the club, found that the C.B. isn’t really ideal, unless you all stick quite close together on the trails. Because of this, more and more members are starting to use HAM radios. These were also widely used at the ACE run we did last summer.

Last fall I took an Amateur Radio class put on by NARC, and received Basic(+) certification. My callsign is VE6REJ.

Picked up a mobile rig for the Jeep – a Yaesu 7800, along with a Larsen 2/70 antenna. I’ve also started gathering some materials to build a couple antenna’s – a very portable ladder-line antenna to set up at base camps, and I’m also looking at building a more permanent home base antenna – a J-pole design made from copper pipe.

Have to watch the antenna mount – lost the whip from the Larsen antenna, and now I have to order a replacement.  Thankfully  I don’t need the entire $120 antenna – the whip is only $30 :/
